Design Technology

At Marlborough Junior School we are committed to providing all children with learning opportunities to engage in  Design Technology. Through these subject areas we aim to provide children with skills and knowledge outside of the core subjects, developing their creative minds.  

 

Aims

Design Technology offers opportunities for children to:

Develop their capability to create high quality products through combining their designing and making skills with knowledge and understanding of:

•          Materials and components
•          Mechanisms and control systems
•          Structures
•          Existing products
•          Quality
•          Different techniques
•          Expressing themselves through the use of Art
•          Health and Safety.

We aim to achieve these by ensuring that we have a broad and balanced curriculum, which links closely to the Cornerstone topics each half term.
